TOOLS AND RESOURCES FOR STRENGTHENING PROGRAMMING WITH HUMAN-CENTERED DESIGN
Human-centered design (HCD) is a process to better understand end-beneficiaries’ needs and to work with them to design and test solutions.
HCD can help you:
- Gain a deeper understanding of the beneficiaries’ needs and challenges
- Find new, actionable insights to use in designing programmes
- Co-creation refers to solution design process involving the stakeholders in a central role in all stages of the processCo-create innovative solutions
- Test solutions early on to ensure they are desirable, feasible, and more likely to be adopted.
HCD can be used across a range of development programmes. While some of the HCD tools and methods on this site focus on sexual and reproductive health challenges facing girls and women, they can easily be adapted across contexts to develop innovative solutions for other sectors as well.
